Glue and lamination is an essential part of mattress manufacturing. The adhesive holds the individual parts in place during assembly and use, keeping material and foam from shifting so it maintains the integrity of the mattress. Adhesion requirements will vary depending on the type of mattress parts. The machinery required will vary as foam rails require spray guns for glue. Layers of foam can be laminated with hot melt or applied with heated rollers to distribute the glue in an even coat and then pressed together forming a tight laminated bond.

Glue equipment machines are used for different mattress production systems such as foam encased gluing of rails, hot melt gluing, and laminating multiple layers of latex or foam. There are also inline conveyor system roll coaters for various substrates and serging and lamination for borders and pillow top gussets. Laminating machines can be very simple ones to more complex with multi station functions. Conveyor systems can deliver every aspect of the foam production line from the single sheet to complete foam mattress glued and tamped for the best adhesion.
