Foundation’s support the mattress. Traditional box springs consists of a rigid frame containing heavy duty springs and is often paired with an innerspring mattress.

The construction is basically a set of interconnected springs mounted to a wood framework base. A cover is stretched over the top and sides and stapled to the wood base.
